Boy Scout Troop 76 meets regularly during the school year at 7:30pm each Tuesday night (and alternating Tuesday nights during the summer) at the Foothills Congregational Church in Los Altos, California. We are part of the Pacific Skyline Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
Troop 76 draws members from all the surrounding communities: Palo Alto, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, and Mountain View. The troop is very active in guided outdoors activities--hiking, fishing, snow camping, rock climbing, surfing, canoeing and kayaking, caving, and more. An unusually high percentage of the troop's members go on to earn the rank of Eagle Scout, scouting's highest rank and an acknowledged indicator of future leadership.
Troop 76 focuses on providing boys with opportunities and challenges in leadership, outdoorsmanship, skill development, and personal achievement that will help them grow into responsible, well-rounded, confident, achievement-oriented young men. Public service activities are especially emphasized by the Troop.
Troop 76 welcomes new members into the troop year-round. No previous scouting experience is required to participate--just a willingness to learn and have fun. Boys in our locale from age 11 to 17 years of age, whether former cub/boy scouts or completely new to scouting, are invited to attend a Tuesday meeting and try the Troop 76 experience.
